Inventory Modeling Issue

HI SDN,

I have a requirement to calculate " Number of Movements for each material" for warehouse logistic operations. Can you please suggest the modeling approach for this kind of scenario.

Can I add key figures in the cube level to compute this number or snap shot scenario will help.

Please share you thoughts.

Hi,

You can like...

Take Meterial Production details along with date of manucaturing, and then track it like.

1. From Actual Production Plant to Storage Loaction, how many days? (from AUFM table)

2. Any Internal Transfers?. i.e. one loaction to another location?.

3. From storage location to Custome, this you can find using LIKP and LIPS tables or 2lis_12_vcitm.

In this way you need to gather the data from various tables/ data sources and then create reports.

Thanks

Hi Surendra,

Thanks for the reply. Let me explain my scenario in more detail

Client has only Purchasing; no SD .

I am trying to model material stocks 0IC_CO3 cube which is fed with BX , UM , BF data.

Reporting Purpose:

Purchasing Warehouse dept need to monitor the number of movements for each material as to locate Items which have a lot of movements in a convenient location, rather than in the back of the warehouse.

Reporting requirement calculations:

Total Number of Issues:

Formula: For each unique combination of Material (MSEG_MATNR) and Storage Location (MSEG_ LGORT) determine record count for Movement types 201, 202, 221, 222, 551. I.e. Total number of records for all these Movement types.

Like wise there are other calculations based on Material DOC number and Item.

Now I know i need Material doc number and DOC item which are available in BF , but i don't think it is good idea to add these two fields to cube 0IC_CO3 .

I want to create a DSO layer for BF datasource.

which one of these dataflow is suggestable.

Loading data from BF to DSO and subsequently to cube

BF> DSO> Inventory Cube.OR

Loading data from BF parallely to DSO and Cube

BF----

> DSO

----

> Inventory Cube

any other alternate approaches are welcome. Thanks
