FPM and OADP RoadMap Translation

Former Member

Hi,

We have a requirement to display MSS in English and ESS in user Profile language in the same portal. We have almost achieved this and there is a little part which keeps us in hold of our development. For MSS Applications there are RoadMap UI elements which get the data automatically translated based on User Profile.

We would like to get the RoadMap steps only in English. Has anyone came across this scenario or know from where is the translated text coming from?

Since RoadMap is generated dynamically there is no *.xlf files to these applications. Need inputs on this

Regards,

Nagarajan

You can force the language of the iview to english let me provide the steps.

You can do this via

Languagesettings for the user an ex:

'forcedrequestlanguage' setting in the used iView

Content Provided by SAP->End User Content->Employee Self Service->

iView->leave request > 'forced language'

Please check the above settings and modify accordingly.

Also read the Note 946972

and can be done as below

prtDefault.properties

request.defaultcountry=gb

request.defaultlanguage=en

Hi Siddharth,

Thanks for your response. I have tried setting the Forced Request Language property to English for the iViews that have the requirement. But still it's not applied. The iViews are displayed only in the userr profile languages.

Do we have to apply the SAP Note you provided inorder to force the language of an iView? Is it mandatory?

Because i read a SAP Note: 1232473 saying Forced Request Language will not work for Webdynpro iViews.

Nagarajan

Hi Siddharth,

Thanks for the reply.We are in NW04s SP15.

I have already gone through the note that you have refered. My only problem is that user profile is tied with language. So when the usr logs into portal this gives the higher precedence and doen not check the Forced Request Language or Component locale.

For ESS we do not have problem in this because it is automatically translated to user language. We have removed the *.xlf files for MSS Applications to achive this scenario to be in English. But only the Road Map UI elements wich are dynamically geenrated in FPMUtils component is creating the problem.

Any clue other than this because we have tried and ruled out these options.

Nagarajan.
