When DIR is release then only user can create new DIR version

Hi,

I am using Status Network, in status one status in RE- Release.

when DIR in release status then only user can create new DIR version, currently on any status system is generating new DIR version.

If it's not possible in standard system, Pls let me know it is possible through development or not.

Dear Sunny

Do not give "Content Version" option ticked for any statuses except Release status.

So only when the user changes to Release status, a content version would be created.

Hi Sunny,

as per the knowledge i hv its typically not possible thru standard status network and document type setting.

There are two options to achieve this;

1 Typicall enhancement to give user authorisation of versioning after release status only.

2 With help of ECM, version/revision & relese process method. You have to make release flag and complete for ECM for release status.

Hello Promodh,

Can you please explain in detail how to use ECM for controlling the Creation of New verion untill the document is set to the released status,

We are having the similar sinario where user should not be allowed to create New vesions of the DIR untill it is released in the previous version.

i tried to Create a Change Number in CC01 and assigned object type Document, and ticked every thing Execpt Lock,

also in SPRO in ECM,

i did the following config Rev Lev Active, Higher Rev Level, Rev Lev Automatic,

1) After doing this i could assign the Change No in CV01N while creating Document, but how will it control creation of New version untill the document is released ?

Pls explain if otherwise also what is the significance of this Change No, how is this Change No and The revision level it assigns is made use of ?

2) 2nd thing is i could only assign Change No in CV01N create Document transaction, but the same is not possible while changing the document, ie not Possible from CV02N,

it gives me Error Message,

Generation not supported for change object

Message no. CC063
