Error Msg: Connection to the database is lost;(ODBC-1102) [msg 131-183]

Former Member

Hello,

We have installed SAP Business One on 4 clients in the same network and all the databases are available on all B1 clients. 2 of them are working perfectly. When we try to login from the other two, we are facing the following error:

Connection to the database is lost; (ODBC-1102) [msg 131-183]

We have tried to add a second server on SLD using the server IP instead of server name but when we try to connect we are facing the following error:

Connection with license server failed [Message 60070-15]

We have tried to restart all SQL and SAP services but nothing happened.

SQL Version: SQL Server 2012

SAP Version: 9.3 PL02

Any idea?

Best Regards

Hi alambris1

For error "Connection to the database is lost; (ODBC-1102) [msg 131-183]", please check below steps:

1. Please check and reinstall SQL Server Native client on the problematic workstation.

2. Make sure that windows user * “administrator” privileges. Run SAP Business One “as administrator”

3. There is no Firewall or Antivirus that is preventing access to Database Server.

4. Make sure that proxy settings are set up accordingly. Internet Explorer Proxy settings should be similar than the ones for the company Network. Check enabling or disabling Proxy settings. You can check this information in Control Panel > Internet Options > Connections > * Settings > Proxy server.

5. In most cases, error -1102 means that SAP Business One Services are reachable while the database service is not. Please check if the database server and the port (usually 1433) it listens to are reachable from the affected computer.

6. Verify that the SAP Business One client is not a corrupted installation. Please refer to SAP Note 1989534 for details. Also it could be worth to try to install it with the IP instead of hostname of the database server.

For error "Connection with license server failed [Message 60070-15]", please check below steps:

1. Please check the connection using ping command from affected workstation to license server and db server, if there is any latency or data loss.

2. Run “ipconfig” command in license server and db server, make sure each server has only one IP, no multiple ip assigned.

3. In this workstation machine C:\Windows\system32\drivers\etc\hosts, add the mapping information contain Linux hostname and IP address of license server and db server,

4. Check SLD control center page, make sure no multiple entries added to SLD for one same db server, for example, one register to SLD with IP and another one with Host name, point to one same server, for this scenario, please remove and keep only one.

5. Please check if there is any firewall or antivirus setup in this workstation, that is blocking connection to license server, db server.

Kind Regards

Turn of windows firewall on server then try to connect again. This works for me.
