BI-IP Input Ready Query Sign Attribute

Hello Experts,

I have an input ready query. In this query a chracteristic (lets say chracteristic-A) is in the rows. And this chracteristic-A has 0sign_rev as an attribute. I want to change the sign of entered values according to the values of the 0sign_rev in the master data table of characteristic-A.

In the SEM-BPS manuel planning layouts there is sign attribute entry area which we can use for this particular problem. In Bex Analyzer i tried to use the reverse sign option but it is not doing the same thing as it is in the BPS application.

As a solution now i am using two key figures. One stores the initial values that users enter, the other stores the values that is changed by an planning funtion according to the 0sign_rev values of characteristic-A. But this temporary solution is getting troublesome while using hierarchies and so forth.

Is there any way of using the characteristic attribute to determine the sign of the entered value with Bex Input Ready Queries?

I thank you very much in advance.

Sebnem

Have you tried a FOX formula reading ATRV of Infoobject and changing sign according to it??

Hello Erique,

Yes. At the moment, I have this planning function which is doing the thing that you proposed. But i wonder if there is an easy way through. Because with this planning function i had to use two key figures (in order to differentiate delta entries). First one is for the entries and the other one for the calculated values. And then, because of the distorted summations in input ready queries, i divided the minus and plus signed nodes of the hierarchies (which users did not enjoy) .

Hi Sebnem,

I don't know exactly your requeriments, but I think it is possible to do it in the same key figure.

- In rows you have the characteristic showing the attribute value if you want.

- Users always enter the value in "absolute value".

- Save button has two steps. First step execute FOX formula and second step save values.

- In the planning key figure users will see the correct value and can modify it again.

Enrique
