Crystal reports: text edit on the chart

I have a report that lists months starting from July when a user selects to view the report in any given fiscal year. In order for me to achieve this, I had to create a formula - thanks to a tip from a master here - and use the formula in the group section.

Now when I go to create a chart based on the data on the report, the chart is showing numbers that I had to use when creating the month formula, like "01-July". The number was used in order for me to modify the order of months appearing on the report.

Is there a way to suppress the number shown on the chart like it is supposed on the report?

Hi Kenshin,

1. Insert a Crosstab.

2. Use the Month formula as the Row and the measure field as the "Summarized Field".

3. Highlight the Month formula in the crosstab's row > Group Options > Options tab > Check "Customize Group Name Field" > Click "Use a formula Group Name" and press the formula button beside it.

4. Use this code in the formula:

Mid({@Formula_Name}, 3)

5. Save and close the formula and click OK.

6. Right-click the Crosstab > Select Insert Chart > Choose the Chart Type you need.

7. Suppress the section that holds the Crosstab.

Thanks, Abhilash. But I have a question. As you can see from the attachment, I need to maintain the report in the shape that is shown in the attachment. I am not sure if I can do that with the crosstab? Please advise.report.png

Hi Kenshin,

The Crosstab will not change the report's design - it is just a source for the charts.

Moreover, it will be in a suppressed section.
