Cost component structure to be transfered to copa and PCA

Former Member

My question is related to Product costing, Copa and PCA as follows

Product Costing

Depreciation and Other Overheads like Selling & Distribution overhead, rent etc. to be considered for product costing statistically, it means should not be loaded to the product. keeping in view to captured these costs into COPA.

COPA

Depreciation and other overhead which are defined in product costing should be captured in COPA SKU wise. More characteristics, like Depreciation and Other overheads, to be added after gross profit margin.

SKU's are the Products.

Profit Center Accounting

The Profitability for SKU in COPA should be same as Profitability for SKU in Profit Center accounting.

I am planning to create cost component structure for capturing these costs and not loading to the product for inventory valuation. but I do not know if cost copmponent structure can be captured in copa and PCA as well. Please help me.

Hi

1. Define separtae cost component for Dep & Selling overhead... In OKTZ, mark this cost component as nnot relevant for Inventory valuation...

This addressesn your 1st requirement of Statistical Cost components

2. You can flow all the Cost Components to COPA - Both Stat and Non Stat... In report, subtract the Statiistical cost components whereever you want

3. You cant flow cost components to PCA.. So, only the Non Statistical values will flow in PCA as well as in FI

Hi,

Using the Costing Sheet functionality. Here you can define rules for charging overheads (percentage of machine costs or rate per unit etc).

You can create a overhead cost sheet and keep these costs as part of Selling and Administration overheads and apply it, so that it would show up in Std Cost estiamte and still not be loaded on to the product. Only the Cost of Mfg is applied as Std Cost.

COPA

Depreciation and other overhead which are defined in product costing should be captured in COPA SKU wise. More characteristics, like Depreciation and Other overheads, to be added after gross profit margin.

SKU's are the Products.

You can create a COPA Cycle in KEU1 and transfer the costs from cost centers to COPA characteristics

Profit Center Accounting

The Profitability for SKU in COPA should be same as Profitability for SKU in Profit Center accounting.

Keep the Profit centers as one of the receivers in the COPA cycle you create above

You can send the cost component structure to COPA and not to PCA. You set up by configuring under SPRO->Profitability Analysis->Master Data->Valuation->Set up Material cost estmate.
