    Thanks Vitaly Izmaylov

I guess I need to know how to install the SAP GUI then. Because Crystal Reports will execute but gets an internal error when I choose to connect to the Enterprise. I will look up how to install the SAP GUI.

This definitely sounds like a user access issue. Did you have Admin rights on the computer when you tried to install? Did you right-click and use Run as Administrator? Some companies restrict write access within the Program Files and Program Files (X86) folders to admins. From the errors, it sounds like this is what is occurring during your install.

I don't think the SAP GUI has anything to do with this - you don't have to have other SAP software to install Crystal.

I have administrator rights. I also ran the installation as Administrator.

However, I did the wrong install the first time and I ran from the wrong place (the download directory) and not as administrator. Got errors.

Then, I realized my mistake and ran the correct install as administrator from the correct place. Got errors.

A have done several uninstalls and reinstalls and I think maybe the uninstalls are not removing everything and something is in the registry wrong.

I have really created a big mess with that 1st incorrect install.

Does anybody have any ideas about how I can clean it up and start fresh?

    I fixed the problem!

    I logged in as administrator.

Renamed the InstallData folder to InstallDataOLD.

    Reran the install.

    The installation was successful!

I found this suggestion under an article for how to fix a different error.

    Thanks for suggestions!

"CrystalExtension.dll failed to register" is a normal error if you do not have SAP GUI installed. You do not need it if you are not connecting to SAP type datasources.

The rest of the errors just tells about access limititations.

    1. Make sure to run setup.exe by right-click > Run as Administrator

    2. Make sure there is enough free space on hard drive. (I thought it should not be a problem nowdays, until yesterday I saw a machine with NO free space on C: drive)
