1610 system to have Retail function activated

Hi,

We have a 1610 OP internally and several teams are using it for system demo with different functionality.

If we activate ISR , would this has any implications? I just worried if we do that, the system will be converted to a retail system and people in the SD, MM, etc space would be affected. If not mistaken once activated, we cannot use MM03 anymore and has to use MM43?

If it will have implications, would setting up a different client help so that we can use retail functionality in S4 HANA?

Thank you very much for your kind advice.

Cheers,

Kevin

Hi Kevin,

This is not the same as in ECC.

In S/4 HANA you can use several industry solutions parallel, not like in ECC.

Also, the retail system is now activated by Business function, and the enterprise extension (like was in ECC the EA-RET) plays no role anymore.

Hello Andras, the link you have provided seems to be broken.

We have an issue with a costumer wich intends to activate Retail and also run another company, an furniture industry in the same installation.

The understanding is correct, that there is no problem in such scenario?

Thanks in advance

Luis

Hi Kevin

When you hear about S/4 system you must have heard about "moving to the core". The purpose was to move all the standard and industry business functions into the core which will allow you to use business components along with industry specific components.

Therefore when you go to your switch framework you can see retail business functions available to be used alongside other business functions.

Though there definitely will be some implications while you activate those and therefore must refer relevant notes before doing so.

Thanks

Thanks Vinod.

What about doing the activation in a different client? That means one client for Retail and another for non-retail?

hello Kevin

Your understanding is correct. Once activated, the business function will change and it can't be undone.

I've done this on ECC. It may be the same way for s/4 hana.

Thanks

Vinod
