Text item

An item in a sales and distribution document that contains text only.

During sales order processing, the user can enter information for the customer or for internal purposes in a text item.

For example:-

Service brochers

Instruction manuals

Product manualls etc...

Dear Murali,

When we sell say TV, its product manual goes within its box itself. So what is the need to create seperate sales order for the manual.

You are not going to create seperate sales order, just your treating as seoerate item in the same sales order it self.

Hi,

Moreover to what Murali has informed, you can see the standard text item category TATX in VOV7 wherein there are certain fields which are not relevant for text item --- like --- pricing is not done for text item, schedule lines are not generated for text item {just b'coz it is going along with your standard item itself}, then item is relevant for delivery is ticked {which meand it will go in delivery}.. many more things to say about text item.. but it'd be good for you to understand more when you compaire TAN x TATX in VOV7.. you will come to know lot of differences..
