How to find different position held in the present company

Dear Experts...

I want to know how to get the carreer history of an employee in the present organisation.

Suppose an employee start with his carrer as assistant in the year 1980.at present his position is

Genral manager.

How to get the details of the career history of a particular emplyee in the present company.Is there any sap specified infotype which sufficies this need.

why dont you cerate customzing infotype to track the career life cycle of an employee ( by using the t .code pm01), check this infotype 0395( exter org assingments)

Thanks for the reply.Is there any other infotype other than Org.Assignment.As because in our company..we have maintained 9999999 default position for the employeees who have joined before the Sap has implemented.At present client wants the History of the positions held by an employeee in course of the employment.Is there any possibility to maintain the details of previous position held in 0023 infotype in the company.

Try Maintaining them in PP01 witha custom relationship.If U use standard relationship then it will trigger the PA-OM Integration and will not allow U to do so.

Hence U can create a cutom relationship as History position. and maintain the history positions for reporting things.

Second option is IT0023 and if POsition field is not there then make an enhancement by PM01-Take help of ABAPer.

Hi Vicky,

We had also dealt with a similar case.

In that case, just like u mentioned, we have used 0023 infotype to hold the career history of the employee in the company.

We have customized IT0023 so that we kept track of the project name, position in the project, and expertise gained during the position of an employee.

Using IT0023 is a good idea as you can keep the track of the whole career history of the employee (both in prior companies and the current company) in one shot.

I hope org. assigment would give you the log as it records all the positions he is mapped right from day one of his employment.
