Sender activity type in time sheet

Hi all,

while entering time data in time sheet against network & activity, selected from the work list, the system issues an error msg : assign activity type for the cost center XXXX.

We do not want to capture or allocate any cost to PS.

Question is, how can we skill entering activity type in the time sheet for entering time against each activity.

Hi,

For booking of time sheet through CATS, it requires mandatory fields.

Cost center

Activity type

CO object(internal order, n/w or activity, WBS, SO, Cost center)

For booking the time sheet through CATS:-

- rates should be maintained in cost center w.r.t activity type.

- personnel number with the responsible cost center.

- data entry profile.

Also whenever we are booking the time sheet, we are booking the hours against some of the activity performed in business such as project management, erection, commisioning etc. So that we can check the cost on the project related to various business activity.

Is the activity type is created by sd/ps/co can you clarify please.

When i am wroking on cat2 tcode i am getting error as -- You have specified sender cost center 5010003 without an activity type,Enter the sender activity type for cost center 5010003

So Can you provide me the solution as is it HR part of any configuration step missing.

In HR info type 315, you need to mention default activity type and cost center combination. For the same combination CO will be maintaining the rate.

Hi,

my qusetion is, whats the purpose you are having to use CATS with PS integration.

Is it only you want to monitor the hours spend on each activity by the resource?

And you donot want to book any secondary cost to network /WBS Element.

And how the actual cost is being booked.

Please reply so that we can think to address the issue.

Hi

You will have to maintain it in KP26 with valid periods. Do not put any rate in it if you do not want the cost.

As Hemanth told that is one way..

But if you don't wanted to activity type to be appear in system than keep the same as hidden /display filed using Influencing filed of Data Entry profile, based on requirement.

PS -CATS integration is defined based on two main point your activity type & Cost Center ( Normally you use CATS for time / Cost booking it will get recorded in Cost center & activity type )

Now the question is why you want PS CATS ?
