mail server to SAP ECC

Dear Team,

I am looking for solution for the scenario.

The requirement is to download the PDF from email and change name of the file with subject before saving it into SAP. I am aware of the solution using mail adapter but due to some reason not able to use iMAP and POP3 protocols which mail sender supports. I read about EWS web service to consume mail. Can I develop interface for my requirement using EWS. If yes please guide me.
