Hi,
I am about to install a SAP j2ee instance in windows 2003.
I was under the impression that only Windows 2003 enterprise edition was supported/recommended for SAP productive instances. Enterprise version is costly compared to standard version.
Now, it looks like standard edition is acceptable itf you can handle memory limits (4GB for 32-bit and 32GB for 64-bit).
Can someone confirm my assumption?
thanks.
Hi Eric. From instguide you can use this servers for 64 bit (example for Central System) :
Windows Server 2003 :
Windows Server 2003 Standard Edition
Windows Server 2003 Enterprise Edition
Windows Server 2003 Datacenter Edition
For any version of Windows Server, you need the
latest supported service pack.
A suitable Windows Resource Kit is strongly
recommended.
You can't use 32 bit for Production system, in any case for release NW SR3 -->
you can't even install on 32 bit platform.
P.S. for HA for example you can't use Standart Edition ...
P.P.S for example read this
