Regarding DSO

Hello,

I'm loading data using Lo-extraction(Delta load) as follows

PSA>DSO->INFOCUBE

My doubt is when we create DSO which data type will suite above scenario?

like "Standard" or "Write Optimized" or "Direct update"

I'm not generating a report on DSO so performance is not an issue , I want to make sure Delta load should work like when we change the data in r/3 or delete the record in r/3 those records should calculate correctly in BI.

Hi Roshan,

All the LO data sources can be loaded into a standard DSO with overwrite option as update mode.

All you have to do is to chose the keys properly.

This will be help to manage delta in best way and load to subsequent cubes as well.

You can go through help.sap.com to know more about write and optmized but since you are mot going to anything other then staging the data into DSO therefore use standard DSO's.

So PSA to DSO Delta load

DSO to INFOCUBE delta load

We don't delete the requests in PSA and Infocube right, every day we will load Delta from R/3 to psa>dso>infocube.

Yes.... no need to delete requests from PSA as long as you are running Delta DTP for ODS and Cube load. It works fine even with delta infopackages.

But one of my CO-PA data source does not have ROCANCEL field so if that is the case which one we need to map RECORDMODE in DSO inorder to work Delta records?

Yes, thats normal procedure. Load data in ODS, Activate request and then load that request in cube by delta load.

I'm extracting 2LIS_11_VAITM data source using LO-Extraction(VBAP-Sales Detail Record)

R/3 side 2LIS_11_VAITM scheduled as "Queued Delta"

While loading into DSO, keys as Sales Document no and Item no this will be unique record in DSO.

When we map ROCANCEL to RECORDMODE in ODS transformation that will take care of delta records

such as sales document changes,deletes,adds?

Yes.. your keys are correct and you will recieve correct delta in BW.You dont have to worry about it if you mapped Recordmode in transformation/update rules.

Also, If we select Standard DSO what are the fields we need to map in transformation inorder to work Delta Like ROCANCEL ...ect

You need to map ROCANCEL to RECORDMODE in ODS transformation. Thats it.

Standard DSO will be most obvious and correct option. It will take care of all delta changes with AFTER and BEFORE images. Go ahead with Standard DSO.
