Problem with today() function

Hi,

I have created a xcelsius application that track data quality metrics from out database. I am using the "today()" function to calculate today's date. However, when we leave the application is open over the weekend, when I come back on Monday... still has Friday's date. Is there any way to "refresh" the formula automatically, without having to re-start the flash?

Thanks

Rick

    The problem is not with the function, it is that Excel is a static data source. I believe you would find the same behavior if you left your spreadsheet open overnight, the formula would not update on its own. If you close your spreadsheet and then reopen it, you would find the date has updated as expected. It is the same with Xcelsius and your SWF file. It may be possible to figure out a way to use one of the connectivity components to refresh the SWF file, but otherwise you will need to close and reopen the SWF to update the spreadsheet. Or have the current date fed from a live data source rather than use an Excel formula.
