Many reports on one Crystal report with one selection for all

First of all, I'm a beginner with CR.

My goal is to show somehow a cockpit in Crystal Report including up to 12 reports. 9 of them as Diagrams an 3 'Top 10'-Reports, which only include the headline an 10 rows. In best case on 2 pages in landscape format. All reports are SAP BW-Queries

what i tried yet is this:

An empty Main report where i use only the selection parameters. The other reports i included as subreports and linked the selection paramters with the main report so i have only one pop-up for the selection. My problems are, that the fist empty page is always shown (probably because of the empty main report) and formatting of the subreports is hard. Can't do it on a pixel level. I can just put a frame for the subreport, but even if the frames in design mode are apart, can they overlap when the report is shown. And also it's hard to control the page break

My question is, is there another possibilty to design my 'Crystal Cockpit' with better formatting options or do I have to work with these subreports and the limitations ins formatting?
