TO Confirmation - RF

Hi experts,

We are using RF HHT to confirm the transfer order.

During confirmation i know we can change the storage bin.

But how can we change both storage type and storage bin during TO confirmation.

Anybody from you have came across where we can change both storage type and storage bin during TO confirmation ?

I just gone through one thread where it is said we can change the storage type by using some fm.

I really appreciate you help.

regards,

Abhishek

    Hi jurgen,

I understand and agree with the statement you made.

But in real time we have such challenges and we have to provide solutions to such exceptional cases.

Let's assume, system proposes a full pallet to storage type XYZ which is dedicated to only full pallet.

During TO creation system proposes the full pallet with 10 cases to storage type XYZ, but during TO confirmation user founds only 9 cases in the pallet. so in this system won't allow the user to confirm TO with partial pallet(9cases) since it is dedicated to full pallet.

Hence to handle such exception case we must be ready with some solution.

I hope you have understood my issue and i expect you are convinced with it.

    regards,

    abhi

    • Destination bin can be change during confirmation applicable only with Inbound but your query seems to outbound so I am sure this is custom RF transaction and your requirement is to change the source storage type during outbound because destination storage type is fixed (916) during outbound

System proposes a full pallet to storage type XYZ which is dedicated to only full pallet - if user find that less than pallet load quantity exist, he should confirm with difference. Trigger inventory to take corrective action for that bin. Create another transfer order where system will follow the logic for full pallet and partial pallet (I am sure the partial case is with one bin only and next time you will find the full stock in the bin, if not then something seriously wrong with the putaway process) . As per warehouse best practice, i don't see the need to change the SOURCE STORAG TYPE

During TO confirmation user founds only 9 cases in the pallet. so in this system won't allow the user to confirm TO with partial pallet - How do the system know that it is a partial pallet till the time you are not making any entry into system related to quantity and there is a check in custom program to validate the full pallet quantity , you need to look for your custom logic in the program

when my mother gave me an order to buy milk from farmer Mueller then I was actually not supposed to go to the supermarket to buy milk in cartons.

Pretty similar it is if you instruct a system in an automated high rack storage.

Only humans may remember that they have seen the article in question somewhere else, but they don't know if this article in that other storage is not eventually reserved for a different order.

An order is an instruction, and if the order basically says "go there and pick this material" and the worker goes there and there is no material then he either can't confirm this order or he confirms it with 0 for nothing there and all TO quantity is posted to differences.

He returns the order to the office where the supervisor will analyze the situation and eventually create a new order or even initiates a physical inventory as the stock in the system is obviously not equal to the real situation in warehouse.

I would not develop extra programs or modification to allow changes of storage types in the confirmation for such exceptional cases as I can only foresee a bigger mess than you already have currently.
