Delegation Functionality in SAP

Former Member

Hello All,

We have a case where an End User had activated delegation in SAP. Invoice was delegated for Approval to the delegated Invoice Approver.

Delegation remained active but the Delegated Invoice Approver Role was removed. Still the Invoices are getting delegated. One reason we see is as the delegation is active Invoices are continued to be delegated.

However, as the Approver role is removed so the Invoice should not get delegated.

Can anyone explain if Delegation and Approver Role are independent? If delegation is active then the invoice will continue to be delegated regardless if the Delegated User doesn’t have the relevant role.

Thanks

Sandip

Hi Egor Malov,

Thanks for your reply.delegation-sucessful.png

I understand SAP Workflow substitution/Delegation are same. I reviewed the above Link but there is nothing written about the roles.

Attached is the print screen where you can check more details and comment.

- Initially when you tried to delegate you get an error.

- Error is correct as the person to whom delegating doesn’t have the Required Approver Role

- Once Role is added Delegation is successful

- However, when the Approver Role of the Delegated User is removed and Delegation continues to remain active (not turned off) so in this case the Invoices continue to get routed to the Delegated User.delegation-error.png

Hi, Sandip,

Is it SAP Workflow Substitution (https://help.sap.com/erp2005_ehp_05/helpdata/EN/8d/25f558454311d189430000e829fbbd/content.htm?no_cache=true), that is used in your case?

If so, the roles are not checked.
