Hi all!.
I'm really new with BPC and I would like to know the steps to load data to BPC Cubes and Characteristics from ERP but using BI and the standar ETL.
For example, there will be a FI Cube wiht accounting data so I need to copy that data into BPC application. And also master data values as members of dimensions.
What is to be done in order to get the same data in BI Cube and in BPC Application fully integrated in data flow?.
Thanks!!!
I think there is a standard package(LoadInfoProvider) in data manager which downloads data from a BW infocube to a BPC cube.

Hello Martin, I've face the exactly same issue and had tele conference with developers before.
In term of scope of BPC 7.0, version for NetWeaver, there is no path to load transaction data directory from ECC components. To do that, you have to stage data to BI cubes first, then transfer to BPC cubes in CPMB namespace through Data Manager package. Some configuration should be needed in order to transfer to BPC cubes, for example BPC has only one numerical field (SIGNEDDATA). (BI cubes have more than one key figures usually) There should be more consideration because BPC cube's structure is different from regular one.
For master data, there is no way to load from ECC and BI. The function we should rely on is Data Manager package which enables us to load master data from file data. I think there are a few ways to do that, but in my opinion, the best way is to load ECC's master data to BI InfoObject with Business Contents first then export to file format. It is because if you use BC, then you could reduce development tasks for file export add-on program on ECC side. Also master data of BI and BPC should be identical in theory.
Please feel free to ask if you feel to ask more. I hope it helps.

Hi Martin,
Oh no no, you really should not do that because data trasnfer via DTPs (DataMart) is out of scope among BI cubes and BPC cubes.
To transfer data of a BI cube to a BPC cube, you have to use Data Manager, BPC's function. Do not use BI function. You open Data Manager in BPC, then you would have prompt and are supposed to choose one of packages. Then choose "Load Transaction Data from Other Cube" as package, and you would choose BI InfoCube that you want to transfer from. The package is standard function and should work 😃
BPC cube is a little bit different from regular BI cube, so you really should be careful to cube design.
Let me know if you feel to ask. Hope it helps you.

I think this presentation from TechEd can provide some further insights and options:

Unfortunately, as now, this will be pretty hard. You have to take the data xtract to a file and load the file to BOC thru datamanager tool in BPC. However, the next release ( BPC Netweaver) will have BI as the warehouse layer and hence you can make use of the standard extractor of BI.

Sorry, maybe I wasn´t clear at all. We are on BPC for Netweaver.
I know there are two options to do what I want.
The first one is doing it form BPC pulling data from BI using Data Manager. I want to know the step by step to do it from BI to BPC. Beacuase I loaded master data for an Infoobject (dimension of BPC) but I'm not able to see new data using BPC Admin.
I'm I clear now?. Please let me know.
Thanks!!!
