Hello!

So, I'm trying to debug my application, but when I click on "Debug" or "Select and Debug", nothing happens.

In the debug tab I get the message "Debug session started", but nothing happens afterwards, the application doesn't run and not even an error message appears.

Is there some kind of configuration in the INI file or in powerbuilder that I need to do? Or some option a needed to check during installation?

Run and Select Run work just fine, just the debug option is not working. =/

Thank you!

Hello Erika,

Out of curiosity, did you set breakpoints in your application at places where you think there could be a problem?
I'm sharing the legacy PowerBuilder 12.5 documentation from old Sybase web site.

Thanks,
Jacob

Hello!

I did!

I also created another project just in case and again the debug button did nothing... It's def something with my Powerbuilder.

I made a quick test using version 12.5.2 build 5006 on example advguisample (located in C:\Users\Public\Documents\Sybase\PowerBuilder 12.5\Code Examples\Advanced GUI):

  1. Double-click the Application object advguisample
  2. Right-click the line Open(w_main), then Insert Breakpoint
  3. Debug advguisample
  4. Click the Start advguisample icon (under icon New)

Normally, the icons Continue, Step In, Step Over, etc... should be enabled.

The "Debug" and "Select and Debug" will bring you to the Debugger painter. You then need to click the Bug with the Running Man or Debug | Start <application> to run the application in debug mode.
