Advanced DSO (aDSO) as Coporate Memory, with various data versions

Dear all,

We get quarterly data from a data supplier which we use for internal analysis. So far, we process the data using excel and we would like to change this practice and do data processing and archiving in SAP BW.

My provisional model: data gets loaded to aDSO1 (for quarter 1, year 1 for example) in full. This same data is copied to a second aDSO2 (serving as our corporate memory and holding the complete data history). For the second quarter, I load data to the first aDSO1 again and move it to the corporate memory. For quarter 3, quarter 4.

My question: how can I specify in the corporate memory aDSO that this data comes from the aDSO from quarter1 and the other from quarter 2, 3 and 4?

Am not sure if I understand your question correctly.

All the DSOs should have quarter as a characteristic correct? so what's the problem here?

If the quarter is not already part of the data source file, you may have to write a start routine or something to determine the same, and store it as a (part of) Key field in the Initial DSO..
