Hi,

With Standard SOP, you work with just one organizational unit, the product group hierarchy, and plan predefined key figures in a planning table with a set layout. All plans in Standard SOP are based on the standard information structure S076.

To access Standard SOP, in the SAP Easy Access menu choose Logistics ® Production ® Standard SOP. Alternatively, from the Flexible Planning menu, choose Planning ® Standard SOP.

Planning carried out in Flexible Planning, on the other hand, can be based on any information structure of your choice, either a self-defined information structure or a standard information structure. (For an explanation of these two kinds of information structure, see LO Logistics Information System.) This means you can plan any combination of organizational units and any key figures. In addition, you can design your own planning table layouts, known as planning types.

To access Flexible Planning, in the SAP Easy Access menu choose Logistics ® Logistics Controlling ® Flexible Planning. Alternatively, from the Standard SOP menu, choose Planning ® Flexible Planning.

You can also maintain plans using the Planning menu in the logistics information systems.

In short, we can say that Flexible Planning as the name itself implies provides you flexibility to work with any info structure that may be yours own defined or standard info structure S076 whereas this is not possible in case of Standard SOP because you can use only plans based on standard info structure S076

only.

Hope this clears your doubt.

Revert if still any doubt.

Regards,

Tejas

Hi

Standard SOP can not be used in most practicle scenarios. In std SOP, the structure S076 has some standard characteristics and features. It does not leave you with flexibility of changing as per ur own requirements.

You need to go for a flexible planning where you are designing your own infostructure.

simply because, std one is not designed for the purpose what we are looking for.

In std SOP, the structure S076 is having its own charectristics and key figures. If you want to have your own charecctristcs and different levels of aggrigation, then you need to go for a flexible planning where you are designing your own infostructure.
