Hi All,
We are migrating + upgrading from PI 7.1 to PO 7.4 single stack.
When I try to transport ESR Objects through file system, I am able to see only the initial versions of the objects in PO 7.4 instead of latest versions. For example, I have a Data Type with name 'ABC' with versions 1, 2, 3, 4 and 4 being the active version. Now when I transport 'ABC' using file system, I am getting only version 1 in the new system.
Is this known issue? Can someone help me urgently on this one?
Thanks,
Jyo.
Hi Ryan,
I am not looking for version history, I am just looking for higher version but I am getting the older version. Because of that, I won't get the latest changes.
Thanks,
Jyo.

Hi Jyo,
You won't see version 4 in the new system because there is no version 1, 2 or 3. The system will import is as version 1 because in the new system that is the very first version. Version 4 on the old system will be reflected as version 1 on the new system simply because no previous versions exist. Only after you have made three successive changes to an object 'ABC' would you then see a version 4 on the new system.

Hi Jyo,
You will only get the current version in the new system. Then from that point forward in the new system all changes to each object will be reflected in a new version number with the appropriate date for that change. No change information regarding versions in the old system would be carried by default in the new system.

Hi Jyo,
If you are migrating content from your old system to the new 7.4 system you will not get version history. That version management history only exists in the old system based on change list data. The new system would not reflect any version history without all of the change list data being passed over from the old system to the new system.

Ryan Crosby
