RFC Connection

Hi all

I am unable to create an RFC connection between CRM to ECC

The remote login from ECC6.0 to CRM is successful, but unable to create a connection from CRM to ECC6.0 in which the connection test is successful but the remote login in not.

What could the possible reason be? Is there any role to be assigned to the rfcuser?

Awaiting the response.

Regards

Dixie.

Are you sure it is not a system user?

What is the behavior if you type a wrong password? Does a logon window open?

Can you tell what happen when you do a remote login test ? Does it open a login screen or it does not do anything ?

You can also try putting putting your id and apssword and see if you start screen shows up ?

Thanks,

If its not showing you any screen in that case its working fine. Becasue the user that you are using is setup as a background (Service) user and it makes call in the background and not in Dialog mode.

I hope this helps.

Hi

No Naveed. I have used a dialog user. Tried with service user but later changed it to a new dialog user with the required authorizations.

In SM59 from RFC -> Display trace. Look for the entry of the RFC that you are having issues and see if it has any error information in it.

No Error trace available

There was one trace available which showed an error when I entered a value in "Gateway Host" field but then later tried without the Gateway Host as that dint work and now it doesnt show any error

The other thing that I can think of will be password. I know you mentioned ECC 6.0, what is the version of CRM ?. I never ran into password issue but on SDN I have seen couple of postings where passwords needs to be in Upper case in some systems.

Thanks,

Hi

The CRM version is 5.0 and theres no issue with the case of the letters, I am sure about it as I tried all the possibilities.

In the RFC under Logon & Security there is a check box for Current User, if you check that and then try the remote log on ?

If you still don't get the screen then I will say may be open a message with SAP and see what they have to say.

Thanks,
