Archivelink and SAP Content Server

I intend to scan documents for attaching to SAP objects (eg. Sales order). For this, a possible solution is to use archivelink with the SAP Content Server. If my SAP is version 4.70, is this scenario possible ? Do I need to have a WAS ? Do I need to pay any additional license if I use the SAP Content Server ?

Hi Wei Min Chong,

Sap Content Server is valid for version 4.7. I have one proyect with this on version 4.6C and another on 4.7

Content Server is the Sap standard Archivelink Service, for what you can pay the instalation CD or download on Service Sap Web.

Best Regards.

Hi Alberto,

Thanks for your reply. Regarding the WAS, will this be installed as part of the installation of the Content Server as ver 4.7 does not have this? Did you install the cache server as well ? If you upgrade to ECC 6.0, is there an upgrade path for the Content Server as well ?

Regards.

Hi all,

even if this post is old, I recommend you to use the SAP Help portal. There you can find useful information about SAP Archivelink.

Otherwise SAP offers a SAP Archivelink course called BIT615 at Walldorf, Germany.

Regards,

Sam
