Could anyone please explain the purpose and usage of 'POST PCP0' entry in customizing table T77S0?

Below is SAP system document.

PCP0: Selection of Posting Runs in Months

Number of months for the first selection of posting runs in transaction PCP0.

Use

Specify a period in months. When transaction PCP0 is first called, only posting runs generated within this period are selected.
Definitive for the selection is the 'CREADATE' field in table PEVSH (History of Payroll Posting Runs).

If you do not enter a value, all generated posting runs are selected. This can affect the display performance.

Dependencies

Note the filter settings when displaying the posting runs.

Example

You specify a selection period of 24 months.
On June 20, 2016, all posting runs are selected that were generated since June 20, 2014.
