    hi Jerome Fortias ,

We have installed .net connector in a machine which is having VS 2003 and jre 1.6 and jre1.5

but we are getting the following errors while trying to connect to SAP server

Missing R3NAME=... or ASHOST=... in connect_param in RfcOpenEx when using SAPLOGON.INI

Open file 'C:\WINDOWS\sapmsg.ini' failed sap. net connector when using CUSTOM LOGON SETTINGS

and also unable to see the typed password

      I had this error once...

When you select your SAP server on the server explorer, you can use the SAP Login.ini or set directly your SAP parameter ... To do :

On server explorer click on refresh button to see the SAP logo

double-clik on SAP Logo to open the subfolder "Application server'

Right click on application server and Add application server

For Destination Type select Custom Logon Settings

      and Fill the form...

Be carefull with the password ... It looks like a list but it isn't. Just click on arrow down and add the password on text field...

Click again on Refrech and it does work

1 - SAP .net connector is a plugin for visual Studio 2003... Then you have to install it only on the visual studio computer.

2 - SAP .net connector helps you to create a proxy... Actually an RFC client. It means you have to do nothing SAP side. Just create an user or some users for your dotnet applications ....

3 - Before install sap .net connector you have to install a JAVA JRE.

    Have fun

    Jerome
