We currently have SAP Solution Manager 7.1 on two servers with Oracle 11 and with Data Guard configured; It is necessary to update Solution Manager to version 7.2 and Oracle to version 12C but I have my doubts about which would be the best option:
Option 1: Update SAP Solution Manager to version 7.2 on both servers, then update Oracle to 12C, SUM offers an option of Update Dialog Instances but I do not know if this case is useful for updating Solution Manager on both servers since it does not load , the second server is used for contingencies.
Option 2: Update SAP Solution Manager to version 7.2 together with Oracle on the main server with SUM, then clone and change the hostname, SID, etc to then configure Data Guard.
I do not know if there is another better option or if SUM helps me update both servers at the same time. I hope you can help me clarify my doubts to start with the change
