Hi,
Are HTTP system Aliases performance intensive in SAP Portal when compared to using the plain URL iViews for accessing the applications.
I have been through many blogs but have not been able to get an clear answer on this.
Hello Neha Chaturvedi,
Simple answer is No, They are not. This is the HELP URL talking about System Aliases
We are currently using them without any issue

Hi Yogesh,
Thanks for the reply, I did go through the link you provided. It is general system alias link. However, my question is more on using HTTP system alias vs the URL iview in the system. As I understand they offer the same functionality.
What are the reasons to use HTTP system aliases over the URL iview or vice versa?
Thanks
Neha
Hi Yogesh,
In our environment we are using Portal as single point of entry for all users and we are using URL iviews to provide links to users to access systems. I have earlier done using URL iviews which worked well. however, i explored this option of using HTTP system aliases which are like URL iview. Now my question is which one is better and why ?
As I understand if using HTTP System Aliases the basis team has to just update the system objects to update the details instead of updating every url iviews. I don't think it is a big effort. I'm trying to get the upside of using HTTP system alias instead of URL iview.
Thanks
