sapcpeft file not found - Instance does not start

I have two SAP systems on server BI and EP. Both have the same problem. There has been no changes made to either systems. The problem is when performing startsap message Startup of instance failed. I review sapcpe.log and message " INFO: Try to find file table in the central directory /usr/sap/EP5/SYS/exe/ctrun/sapcpeft not found any file table". ERROR: can't change to central Executable-Dir /usr/sap/EP5/SYS/exe/ctrun (no such file or directory) [sapxxcpe.c:1488]. The directory ctrun does not exist but in the profile there in routing for ctrun to locate file sapcpeft in /sapmnt/EP5/exe. I'm not sure why both systems can't find the file. Any suggestions would be helpful. This is my production server and systems are down.

Thanks in advance.

Problem has been resolved. Solution was Unix group installed recommended OS patches as of October 8, 2008. By updating the patch level I was able to start my SAP systems. I do not know which patch fixed the problem. System is at Generic_137111-08.

Juan,

I already have OSS ticket open and sending file information to support. I'm running 7.0 / Oracle 10.2 / Solaris 10.

Thanks for your reply.

The directory ctrun does not exist but in the profile there in routing for ctrun to locate file sapcpeft in /sapmnt/EP5/exe

maybe you lost the /sapmnt/EP5/exe mount... you can also download a new kernel with the right structure.
