XL Reporter documentation - ixRef

I want to create a report that includes a count of sales orders and I have found a 'Daily Register Report' sample report on the SAP Business One Customer Portal that achieves this using the ixRef() function.

This seems a bit of a long-winded way of achieving this as I don't want to report on the detail, but my question is where I can find documentation that refers to the ixRef function.
