Setting all ALV default Excel version to save as XLSX (Excel inplace)

Hi,

Little hard to explain, but hopefully with some screens it might make more sense. We are currently using Excel 2013 and if we export in any ALV the file to Excel, default .xls is the proposed file extension, but we would like to default it to .xlsx that matches our Excel version. This is when we use the function Excel inplace:

There are some notes e.g. 548409, 2026162 that refer to this issue but it does not tell us to set it as a system default.

We have executed program BCALV_BDS_MAINTENANCE to delete the SAP Standard templates. So all is deleted. If we do not do anything, and go into a report with function Excel inplace we get the following message.

The 548409 note describes to run the BCALV_BDS_IMPORT_SAP_TEMPLATE program to load the default templates in the system.

When we run the BCALV_BDS_MAINTENANCE program then we see this:

So when we do this, if we execute Excel inplace and we browse to save as file we see that the file extension is .xls and Excel 97-2003 workbook. How can this be changed to default .XLSX?

In transaction OAOR with Class name ALVLAYOUTTEMPLATES and Class Type OT we are able to see the templates.

Here we see the templates + the table template Excel 2003. How is this to be changed?

If we for example double click on the sap_om.xlsx file, we get a preview of the template and if we do save as -> the excel extension .xlsx is there.

Any idea how to set the template system wide to .xlsx?
