Reconcilation between R/3 and BW

Hi ,

We are planning to add a step in our process chain to reconcile the data between R/3 and BW as it is based of a generic delta enabled extractor.

In short we want to compare the counts of table in BW and in R/3.

Please suggest the best approach for doing this.

Thanks,

Mayuri

    Hi,

I would just create a Z table in R/3 which I will update by running a SQL query through a program in SE38.

The query will use table for which I want to count the records.

the Z-table will contain the table name and number of records for that particular day.

It will schedule this program just before the job from BW runs for the datasource based on this table.

Create a generic data source based on this z-table now and load the count into a DSO in one of the fields for this table count only.

    In BW part

Write a program to calculate the records in BW target after the delta has run and store it in the same DSO in another field.

Variants are avaliable for ABAP program.

May be we can go for creating a Z table in BW as well for the count of records of the DSO.

and update the ODS for R/3 table count with this value.

    Maintain it for everyday.

Modify the same process chain to include these steps.

Can wait for other replies as well.

    Thanks

    Hi,

genaric datasource means you know the tables in ECC, so take unit number i.e. Doc no or any thing combination of Material, plant and date like that you take data in ECC from that tables and then you check the same combination in Infocube in BW.

    Thanks
