Moving my Sap system from virtual server to phisical server

Hi,

we will move our Sap system from virtual server to phisical server, but We don't Know how to do it. Has anyone had any experience with this?

We have a virtual machine with Windows 2012 R2 and We wolud like to move to a physical machine with the same operative system.

We greatly appreciate any help us on this issue.

Hi There,

Below is the link from VMware (asuming that your hypervisor is VMware) with Standard instructions. https://www.vmware.com/support/v2p/doc/V2P_TechNote.pdf

System Copy will be the best option for V2P of SAP system, chose "backup and restore" method in system copy procedure.

Below are the steps involved:-

-Target: Install OS on the Physical System (server) and the respective RDBMS being used for your SAP solution running on VM.

-Source: Initiate SAP system copy (Export) procedure for the SAP solution running on VM.

- Make sure to have recent backup of SAP solution (RDBMS backup) which can be used during import process.

Note: do check the latest documention on the system copy and SL tools.
