Hello everyone,

I am new in SCN and I need your help with a QM query. My question is how I could create a manual inspection, with QA01 transaction, for a material in a plant and a storage location without stock relevant.

I have an amount of material in storage location A001 at plant ABC, how could I create with QA01 an inspection lot to inspect the whole amount? I do not need put this amount in Quality stock. I need specify in which storage location I am going to inspect to differenciate between all storage location in plant ABC. I have used inspection type 08. In this case I made a transfer posting from other storage location to A001, but the system only create the inspection lot for the amount transfer, but I need an inspection for the whole amount, the transfer amount and the old amount on storage location A001. If I modify the amount on inspection lot, the system create a new transfer stock to A001 storage location.

Do you suggest me that I create a customer field (Z) or enhancement to make this customer requirement? How could I proceed in this case? Is there any standard solution for this requirement?

Thanks in advance.

Regards.

Hi Gonsaga,

May be the best way here is to activate inspection type 89 (manual inspection) for the concerned material, and in plant ABC, Storage location A001, you can select the material/batch/quantity in full (though not posted to QI stock..) and execute the process for testing quality parameters.

Prior to you do it, it will be good, if the 08 inspection lot is put to UD = A, so that there is nothing in "Q" stock. Then you can do the manual steps suggested.

Let me know if that is working for you.

Thanks,

Arijit

Hi Arijit,

I tried your idea, but with inspection type 89 I can't choose the storage location as you can see in the following pictures:

Where can I select the storage location?

You can create a manual 08 using QA01. If you do a drop down in the storage location field next to the batch field, it will show you the batches in those storage locations.

Hi Craig,

We don't use batched materials in this case. I just need to inspect all material stored at storage location to differentiate between storage locations. My customer has 5 storage locations and they need to inspect every storage location in the same plant, is it possible? I think inspection type 89 it would be perfect but I can't specify the storage location.

Anymore help?

Thanks.

Well did you try making inspection lots of each inspection type in a sandbox to see how they worked?

Hi Creig,

I showed above how it works with inspection type 89. In these print screens you can see that I can't choose storage location:

Hi,

I have just done a test with a batched material and I could choose the storage location.

I think there is not any other option.

Thanks.
