MRP does not recognize existing purchase requisition

Hi ,

MRP does not recognize existing purchase requisition, which has been created through Sales order/Customer stock, and creates a new purchase requisition to meet the same requirement.

The existing purchase requisition has been automatically created upon saving the sales order by specifying Item Category TAB for the sales order line item.

Check the "Planning Mode" while doing MRP. It should be 3 (Delete and recreate planning data)..This will replace the existing requirements and create the new ones.

Also it might be that there was a change in the requirement and the existing purchasing requirements does not meet the requirement because of qty or dates and hence system creates a new one to cover-up the difference.

What is the statergy group you have given in MRP view

if you have taken as make to order scenerio then the purchase requisitions will be genrated automatically for that particular order.

Hi,

There is no strategy group in the material master. I want the purchase requisition to be generated automatically. My issue is that MRP is also create another purchase requisition for the same requirement.
