Hi,

Create SystemObject in Portal. In System Object We Specify ECC System Properties. And After That We Create Syatem Alias For that System Object.

In Visual Composer You Can Select System ALias And Whatever data you want in crm that can be search. and modelling application in visual composer.

In Portal:

Creating System Object

Go to system Administration --> system configuration --> system landscape.

Expand the folder portal_content. Right click on the portal_content folder and choose new --> system. Select the template which matches with your ECC system and choose save.

Right click the system object created and choose edit. In the drop down box select connector properties. Enter the ECC details here like application host, server port, etc. and choose save.In the system object you have to give the ECC system details in the connector property.

Now select WAS property from the drop down list. Give details of your WAS server and save. The WAS server details should follow the fully qualified domain name

Now choose user mapping from the drop down list and select the logon method you need and select user, admin from the drop down box and save.

Again right click the system object and choose system alias. Give your logical system name and set it as default and save. Also create another system alais SAP_ECC and set it as default and save

Right click the system object and choose connection test. Select the check box you need to test and test the connection .

After Login Visual Composer ,Select Find Data .And Specify System ALias ANd Search Required BAPI Name. After That Drag the BAPI into Storyboard Area. And Design Application .And Finally Deploy Application.

And Refer VC in SDN

Thanks for the explanation. I am on my own while working on the Discovery server, hence the following basic questions.

I was able to configure based on the template "SAP dedicated server". During the connection tests, the WAS test went fine but the "SAP Test for Connectors" failed. The error is "Connection failed. Make sure that Single Sign-On is configured correctly".

Properties set for "user management" are as follows:

Authentication type: assertion

logon method: SAP logon tickets

user mapping fields:blank

user mapping type: admin,user

Would appreciate if you could help me resolve the issue.

Thanks and regards,

Samir

Hi,

Reason for this problem is Due to Wrong usermapping for the Backend with the user with whcih you are opened the VC.

as you mentioned in reply the following configurations

Authentication type: assertion

logon method: SAP logon tickets

user mapping fields:blank

user mapping type: admin,user

if the logon method is SAP Logon ticket then you should use signle sign on method

otherwise change the Logon method to UIDPW means userid and password.

if you have any user which having the rights to access YOUR SERVICES then you can use that user for Usermapping.

Do you know how to do usrmapping ?

Hi,

Steps :

systemadministartion->systemconfiguartaion->yoursystem->rightclickon the yoursystesm->create alias.

after creating the alias you have to map this to your VC user.

Usermapping:

Useradministration->identitymanagement->find your VC user->click on modify->usermapping for system access tab->slect the your system alias->give the UID and Password of the uesr which having the rights to access the above Systems (For Ex:ECC)

Save and then do the connection test one more time

Check the below Blog for more Explantion:

Hi,

in identity management ypou have to search for your VC User with which you opened the Visual composer Browser.

And if you know how to do the Single Sign on then no need to do Usermapping.

any thing is ok .

Hi,

I am unable to get the "Identity management" page. There seems to be some error. I would like to try with single signon. I do not know how to do single sign on. Can you please give me the details? As i am working on the Discovery server i have the ECC and the portal, VC on the same server.

Samir
