SAPInst unable to start Java instance successfully

Good day

I hope this is the right aria to post this thread.

We are in the process of installing a duel stack (ABAP + JAVA) SAP ERP

SR2 system at a client. SAPinst fails on phase 52 of 61 where it try to

stop and start the java instance. Error message in the sapinst log is as follows "CJS-30151 Java process server0 of instance TCD/DVEBMGS00 [ABAP:

ACTIVE, Java: (dispatcher: RUNNING, server0: UNKNOWN)] did not start

after 1:30 minutes. Giving up.".

I can not find anything wrong in the log and the strange part is when I start the instance on the OS level it start

successfully. But it does not start through SAPinst. I have adjusted the Max Heap Memory from 2048 to 1024. As was suggested in same formers. But no success.

The installation is on Red Had Linux 5 with DB2 9.1.

Can any one help?

Hi Juan

Thank you for your response. I have tried it. But it would seem like the first step in this phase is to execute sum RFC and then stop the ABAP+JAVA instance and then restart it again.

That has happen to me in more than 1 occasion... the only way to make it run was to start the instance manually and then resume the installation.

I looked at the path is correct and the swap space on the server is 3 x RAM.

I have go through all the log and trace files I can find in the dispatcher; bootstrap and server0 directory. All looks fin in the log files.

Check the server0.log file located in

usr/sap/sid/dv*/j2ee/cluster/server0/log/

hi,

check the system parameter "path ".

if the java path is correct thhen check the virtual memory to 3 times of the ram .

it may help you
