Print preview for email,fax,edi output

Hello All

Today when we have POs that are sent to vendors via EDI, Fax, or Email, there is no print preview generated when we click on the print preview button. The print preview only works with print output.

I found a thread in the forum that mentioned FM Convert_OTFSPOOLJOB_2_PDF. Can someone explain to me exactly how FM Convert_OTFSPOOLJOB_2_PDF works? I want users to be able to look at po output that was sent via EDI, fax, or email. Today we have to re-output to a printer in order to see it. Will this function module help?

Hello Jane,

Why don't you just create an other message type with the same parameters and set it to On-demand print.. That way you can view the PO. you will not be able to use print preview with any other messages as the communication method is different. Moreover teh form routine and the program are also different.

You will not be able to use OTFSPOOLJOB2PDF as no spool is created in case of EDI or ALE transactions..

Your best bet thus is to create a message type and have an appropriate smartform against that..
