Approval process - Locking Key Figure

I am desiging a planning application for employee to enter planned goals. The first step of the process, team leaders will input a planned Metric Guidance (recommended yearly goal) key figure. Once all team leaders have input this goal, the Regional manager will need to approve. Once approved, the users are requesting all Leaders be notified. What would be the best method of having the system automatically notify all leaders? Also, once this is approved, we will want to lock the metric guidance from being updated. What's the best method of locking this key figure? We will not want to lock the region/leaders from updating the plan cube as they will need to be able to add/change planned goals per period (using the metric guidance as a reference). Only want to lock this key figure.

Hi,

The best way to implement such kind of scenario in BPS or in IP is to use Status and Tracking System(STS). Using STS you will be able to achieve following:

1. Notify leaders about approved KPI.

2. Lock the metric guidance for further updates.

3. Changing the status of planning tasks by the responible users.

4. Administrator will be able to monitor the ststus of complete planning process at any time.

You can use workflow to notice people about step of planning. For locking transaction cube you can use data slice.
