Hi,

We need to setup e-sourcing environment.

As of now it seems only 5.0 version is general available and 5.1 is still under rampup.(Pls correct me if I am wrong)

If I have to go with E-sourcing 5.0 on windows, can I do this with NW04s?

If not what is the suggested landscape, mainly combination of OS and Application platform?

Thanks in advance for your help !

Regards

Ravindra

Hi Ravindra,

Yes. That's correct E-Sourcing 5.1 is not out yet for general availability.

E-Sourcing can certainly be hosted on Windows environment. Generally, the recommended that landscape for the application has web and application server running on Windows. E-Sourcing software will be installed on the windows application server with a either of the these three web servers ; IBM Websphere or BEA Weblogic or JBoss. The back-end Oracle can be run on any UNIX based platform and the connectivity is via JDBC.

Hope this is helpful. Let me know if I can provide any additional information.

Hi Parankush,

Thanks for useful info.

I have another question.

If at all I have to go for 5.1 what is the right combination.

I am planning like this:

1) E-Sourcing platform - Win 2003 64 bit along with NW 04s SP16

2) Optimizer - win2003 64 bit and Contarct Management on same box.

Will it be fine or is there anything wrong.

Ravindra,

Yes, your OS options are good irrespective of the version. The only recommended modification would be to let the Contract Generation run on seperate windows server and run Optimzer on the same server which is running your E-Sourcing application.

Hope it clarifies
