Cannot export XCelsius file to Enterprise using an IP-Address

Dear all,

I try to export and xlf-file to BOE using the server's IP-Adress instead of its hostname (my test system is not propperly integrated into the customer's network so host name resolution does not work).

I get the error message: "Transportation error: Communication error" and nothing else.

Any ideas? I' am using XCelsius 2008 SP1.

Cheers, Martina

    Hi Martina

I was able to using Xcelsius 2008 SP1 to export to BOE XI R3 using IP address, will you able to ping that IP address from the machine where Xcelsius 2008 SP1 is running?

      Hi Charles,

of course I was able to ping the server from my client. As you did I tried to reproduce the problem without luck. On my CDI6-VMWare-Image everything went smoothly when I used the IP-Address.

I solved the problem by adding a hostname for the server to the host file on the client machine and used it to export to BOE. This got me into trouble with flash's new security feature (ERROR#2048). I circumvented this one by using a crossdomain.xml file.

So the problem is solved, it just took a few work-arounds.

      Kind regards, Martina
