Handling unit number and Packaging material

Hi Gurus,

What is the relation between Handling unit number and Packaging Material?

Can there be a business scenarion where there will be only handling unit number is needed with out needing packaging material?

Where can i enter Handling Unit number used for a delivery?

Handling unit is linked with WM,it tells system how handle the material/product based on the characterstic of the product.POP1 transaction will tell to the system(Packing Instructions).

Based on the instructions system will allow the packaging material.You can assign alternative package materials.
