Hi ,
We are working on a customer data consolidation . A workflow is defined in MDM for matching & merging .
The process is -
1. local data steward will execute matching strategies in Match step.
2. If duplicates found he has to selecte a master record & merge other records .
3. The merged record has to be approved by matser data steward.
4. MDS can edit/approve/disapprove details in merged record
The issue is when the mergded record goes for approval the master data steward will see only merged record & not the original ones. So the issue is , what will be the basis for approval of the merged records if he is not able to compare merged & original records. Any way to split Match & Merge step in two steps or rollback merged record changes (back to 2 records) if disapproved?
Please let us know if anyone of you has already thought of such scenario & have the solution / suggestion.
Quick help is appreciated.
Regards
Yogesh

Hi Yogesh,
Once the duplicate records are merged in to one record.A new merged record gets created in MDM,this rec will have the global information.
You can only view the Primary key(remote key) of the two records in the Key Mapping option.where you will be able to see the two records local ids but not the complete local information.
Your requirement is quite practical and can be met possibily by using the Check out feature in MDM as mentioned in the earlier post.
Hope It Helped
Thanks & Regards

Hello,
maybe you can check-out the data before modification of original data (according your user process)
when apply the validation workflow, this one is based on the new version of data
you can use "Compare with original" function in right-click sub-menu and you have access to the two versions : original and new, like this, approver can compare and accept/reject the validation in worflow
(but no difference between match and merge)
Hope helps you
