Can infocubes be updates in BW 7.5 ?

Hello,

My client is planning to upgrade from BW 7.4 SP13 powered by HANA to BW 7.5 in order to use new functionalities (SDA & CDS view extraction) from source S/4 HANA system.

There are few info cubes / multi providers in the system and i want to check if those can be updated/maintained in BW 7.5.

I understand that BW 7.5 has a compatibility mode which allow you to convert those objects to latest standards before triggering BW4/HANA.

My questions is, in the compatibility mode can info cubes exists and also can there be maintenance performed ?. Also, are data loads allowed to info cubes in compatibility mode ?

Hi, my understanding is the below:

BW mode (initial mode after upgrade)
BW 7.5 InfoCubes work the same as in BW 7.4, you can load data, make changes and create new cubes.

Compatible mode
You can still load data, but not create new InfoCubes. If you can make modifications to existing cubes I'm not sure, but I doubt it.

BW/4HANA mode
You can only have BW/4HANA objects in your system, InfoCubes can no longer exist.

Ready for conversion mode
Final prep before conversion.
