Upgrade to SAP HANA Express 2.0 SPS03

Hello Experts,

I upgraded to SAP HANA Express 2.0 SPS03 from SAP HANA Express 2.0 SPS02 rev 23.

I used the procedures defined in the included documentation, "Getting_Started_HANAExpress_VM.pdf" - Updating SAP HANA, express edition.

The system indicated that the upgrade was successful as shown in PIC 1. But when I logged out and logged in again, the logon screen shows "SAP HANA, express edition 2.0 SPS02 ..." as shown in PIC 2.

So, I am not sure if there is still an issue with the upgrade. What should be done to resolve this issue? How can I quickly check that I'm really using SPS03 aside from just checking the files' dates?

Thanks and kind regards.,

Annie

    Hi Ana,

The message you see when logging in is a customized message from SAP for VM. You can change them as you like and are not dependent on which HANA version you have installed on system.

You can check which HANA version you have installed by running the following

    command: HDB -version

    ...

and to customize the message you saw when you logged in, edit the /etc/issue-sap file and past the text you want. After a restart the new message will be displayed.

      Hi Ayman,

Thanks for your reply. I now see that I got the SP03 version. I am now tempted to write something funny on the "issue-sap" file. :)

      Thanks and kind regards,

      Ana
