Folks

I am not a SD guy and i have a very basic question on how to read the details in the procurement tab for a sals order.

In the Procurement tab of a Sales order, two line items per material are displayed as shown below. whats does this mean ?

Further, I had observed the below differences in the below 2 lines

1. Mat. Avail Date is 06/19/2007 for line 1 & 06/20/2007 in line 2.why r the dates different ?whats the significance?

2. Confirmed qty is 0 line 1 & 1in line 2.( when does confirmation trigger or update ? Is it upon ATP check or upon delivery ?)

3. Order qty is 1 line 1 & 0 in line 2.

Item	Material	Plant	Confirmed Qty	SU	Mat. Avial Date	SL	Req. Type Deliv. Date	ATP Qty	Loading dt	Route	Part. Deliv/ Item	Deliv priority	Desc
10	NTE801NC	2400	0	EA	6/15/2007	CT D	6/19/2007	0	6/15/2007	24GB03	C	98	Priority 98 (Normal)

                                1	EA	6/15/2007	CT D	6/20/2007 6/15/2007 Priority 98 (Normal)

Thanks

Dear Yogi

While creating sale order for a particular item, if stock is available it will be confirmed for the same date at schedule line level and you can see one schedule line for the same. On the other hand, if stock is not available on the date of sale order creation, sytem checks the controls you maintain in checking rule OVZ9 and confirm in sale order with a second line at schedule line tab.

Coming to your question, No schedule lines are not created only during backorder processing for the reasons explained above

thanks

Backward scheduling will take place to check ATP and arrive at the dates for scheduel lines. If the stock is not available as on the requested delivery date in the sale order, quantity cannot be confirmed and hence confirmed quantity will be 0. The next confirmed date will be triggered from inhouse production time mentioned in the material master and entire quantity will be confirmed for this date which is why the second line is seen with the confirmed quantities.

These are called schedule lines.

Thanks for the info.

1. So are schedule lines created only during backorder processing ?

2. Does ATP/gATP check also create schedule lines ?

So is the material availability date always the date mentioned in the schedule line?

TIA

1. So are schedule lines created only during backorder processing ?

Backorder processing is not mentioned anywhere in the reply. Backorder processing is a different concept and you can search forums to understand the process

2. Does ATP/gATP check also create schedule lines ?

If in the item category schedule lines are allowed then the schedule lines will be created. If the stock is available then the entire quantity will be confirmed and there will be only one schedule line. Alternatively if stock is not available then there will be two schedule lines. You can manually create more schedule lines also.

So is the material availability date always the date mentioned in the schedule line?

When ATP check happens, the scheduling takes place backwards and if the availability date is in the past then forward scheduling takes place to arrive at the availability dates.
