Hello

Business process - BPM , integration process

Business system - Business System is something that physically exists eg- ECC system- A2A Scenario

Business Service - when the message is not addressed to a Business System in your system landscape. It is used mostly used in B2B scenario, where you don't know the Business Systems of your partner - B2B Scenario

A Business System is something that physically exists.

For example, if you want to download a file from a system ABC, by using File Adapter and then want to update the content of this file into R/3 database by using RFC, then the system ABC and the R/3 will be your Business Systems, i.e they physically exists.

We usually use business system when we configure internal company processes.

Business Service is mostly used in B2B scenario, where you don't know the Business Systems of your partner. In other words business service will be used only for those partners which do not have a physical landscape set up. So this is the reason that Business Services do not have an entry in SLD.

hi,

Business System

1) Business system is a logical system, and there is an importance on physical existence of the system.

2) Also SLD entry is required.

3)It is generally used for SAP applications, this is just a general prinicple followed but not mandatory.

4)This is defined as part of the SLD and is a physical system whose parameters are well defined.

5(Business systems refers to the physical systems, for instance the R/3 system. You define the business systems in the SLD

Business Service

1) You use a Business Service, when you do not have the System details of the the partner system to which you want to communicate. i.e. you have not configured the partner system in SLD.

2) Business Service is an Absract Unit with Sender and Receiver Interfaces,In this case you need to explicitly add the message interfaces while doing configuration in ID.

3) It is generally used for NON-SAP applications, this is just a general prinicple followed but not mandatory.

4) This is not defined as part of SLD and whose technical parameters are not completely known.

5)Business service is used when the message is not addressed to a business system. It is used mostly in B2B scenarios.

Hey

Business System is for external systems like R\3, Oracle, legacy....etc...

you create a business system in SLD and import it in ID.

Business Process in ID is corresponding to Integration process in IR(i.e. BPM)

Hi

This question is easily search able in SDN.

Threads above are useful. Along with that

1)When we use Business Process ?

Business process is involved in running a Business requirement or rule. As per PI to run a complex business process / cross component business process at IT level you use Business process Management which is nothing but Integration Process.(BPM)

We use this to satisfy typical requirement of having multiple communications for the business process. Best example you can see in your PI system MultipleFlightBookingCoordination

This explains the Flight Booking business process using Integration Process in PI.

2)What is the difference Between Business System and Business Process?

Business systems are logical systems, which function as senders or receivers within SAP PI. Types of business system

AS ABAP - A business system, which is associated with an AS ABAP.

AS Java - A business system, which is associated with an AS Java.

Standalone - A business system, which is associated with a standalone Java application.

Third-party - A business system, which is associated with a third-party technical system.

Use Business system as per requirement of your landscape. You can use Business service for any systems outside your landscape.

Thanks
