duplex printing and new page in page footer

Hi

Hoping you might be able to helpu2026.

Client needs Terms and Conditions printed on back page of every page of invoice using duplex printer.

But CR not allow u201Cnew page beforeu201D, u201Cnew page afteru201D on page footers.

Tried adding sub report onto page footer where sub report has Terms and Conditions text in details section with new page before and after but CR ignore this and prints whatever it can at end of page.

Have even tried inserting form-feed char (chr12) before and after text in footer or before and after sub-report in footer, but this kills CR at print stage.

Any suggestions how we might be able to do this?

    Here is the set of tricks that may help you:

    First, letu2019s create a fake Page Header:

    1. Create @FakeGroup formula with two lines only:

    Whilereadingrecords;

    u201Cu201D

    2. Insert a new group based on @FakeGroup formula.

    3. In Group Expert, make a new group as a top level group (Group 1)

    4. In Group Expert, select @FakeGroup and click Optionsu2026 , it will open Change Group Options dialog, click Options tab and check Repeat Group Header On Each Page box. Click OK to close all dialogs.

    The fake Page Header has been created. (As you can find it does not have common limitations of normal Page Header, for example you can insert crosstab into the fake Page Header )

    As the second step we need to create an extra horizontal page:

    1. Insert a blank crosstab into Group Header 1.

    2. In Design Mode, expand the CrossTab Column Total field to the right and over the vertical page border. It will create an extra horizontal page in report preview.

    3. You can hide Crosstab gridlines and u201CTotalu201D header, so crosstab would be invisible

    We have an extra page, but we cannot add a text box to it.

    Now another trick to add a text field to the right horizontal page:

    1. In Design mode, add a small text box to the Group Header 1 section (left page)

    2. Expand the right side border of the text box over the vertical page border. The text box should be across two horizontal pages now.

    3. Move the left border of the text box to the right horizontal page.

    Now the whole text box should be on right page only.

    And the Final trick is: In Section Expert set the Group Header 1 to u201CUnderlay Following Sectionsu201D.

    Now you should be able to add your Page size u201CTerms and conditionsu201D to the text box in the right horizontal page which should be printed on the back side of every invoice page.
